REVIEW: L.A. Girl Beauty Brick in Nudes

Actually even though I'm a person who's in love with make-up but I have to say that I'm not that excellent when it comes to applying eyeshadow, well I'm still learning more to apply eyeshadow and nowadays I'm getting the hang of it. Not like smokey eyes or something crazy, just enough.

Since I'm not that great in applying eyeshadow or I'm a person that often wear eyeshadow, I don't really want to spend my money on eyeshadow too much, I'd rather spend it on something else for example blush or foundation, or even brushes.

When Urban Decay released Naked 3, I totally love the colours! Pink, rose gold, and those kind of colours are so pretty but of course the downside is that the palette is too expensive for my eyeshadow budget, especially I'm in Indonesia and my access to that brand is none other through an online shop which sells the product with a higher price than in the United States.

While I was reading through blogs, searching for make-ups and stuff, I stumbled upon a product which said to be the dupe of the Urban Decay Naked 3 but with a good quality. I got interested right away to that product.

That product called L.A. Girl Nudes Eyeshadow Palette and of course I have to buy it in the United States, but I'm searching through Instagram who knows there's someone in my country sells that product. Fortunately, there's an online shop that sells this product and it's still considered cheap for me. I buy it right away and couldn't wait for it to arrive at my house.

It retails for $9 in the United States while I bought it around $13, so it's still a pretty good deal for me. Compares to the Urban Decay Naked 3 which retails for $54 or usually sells in Instagram's online shop in my country for $75-$85 which is quite expensive for me, someone who doesn't really use eyeshadow on daily basis or love to experimenting with eyeshadow.

Once the product arrived at my house, I opened it and I love all the colours right away, despite that I have yet to test the textures and other perspective yet, first the colours.

Moving on to the review, first of all, I will be speaking about the PACKAGING first. This palette is not too thick, but it's pretty long and it's quite the same with The Balm Nude Tude palette or I would say it's also almost similar to Urban Decay's Naked 3 in terms of the length.

This palette is made of a cardboard but it's pretty sturdy for me, however I haven't try bring this palette for travel trips so I do not know about its sturdiness when it's in the luggage or during the whole period of the travelling.

It comes with a built-in mirror, enough for you to look at while applying the eyeshadow which can be very useful during trips so you won't have to bring another mirror. Also, there's a dual-ended applicator, with the first end is a flat brush which I find it very stiff and harsh but great for applying the eyeshadow on the lower lash line, while the other end is a sponge tip and it's just like other sponge tip.

On the back side of the palette, as usual, it's listed all the ingredients and other descriptions as usual. The palette itself is not too bulky in my opinion as sometimes there are palettes that's too thick and too bulky. But this one is quite the right size.

Next will be the eyeshadow itself, the CONSISTENCY and APPLICATION, as well as the COLOUR PAYOFF. This palette consists of 12 colours with 3 matte colours and 9 shimmery colours. I would say the quality overall is pretty good for a $9 product, of course I cannot compare it to the Urban Decay Naked 3 as I do not own it, but I'm pretty sure Urban Decay Naked 3's quality is of course better than this one, but again, for a cheap palette like this, I would say it's pretty good already.

The colours are pigmented and it feels quite buttery, even though some shades when applied on the lid, the colour didn't show really much, only the shimmers are shown and thankfully not over shimmery.

Next will be about the TEXTURE and APPLICATION of the product. The texture of the eyeshadows is quite soft and buttery. With the low price, I would say the texture of the eyeshadows is pretty good already. The application itself on the lid is quite good, blends really well and doesn't have too much fallout either.

As for the PERFORMANCE of the product, it's pretty good. The pigmentation is quite great, there's not much fallout, even though some shades are not that pigmented but still shimmery. Not to forget, it blends quite well as well. It lasts around 4 hours or so, I would say and that's without primer. I've tried using it with primer and it lasts pretty longer than usual.

Well, OVERALL, I like this product. What I like about this product are first the cheap price and the quality of this product is pretty good for such price. Whereas, what I dislike about this product is that some shades are not that pigmented, rather just the shimmer that shows up on the lid. Still, I wouldn't complain much about it since I got it for a pretty low price.

I would recommend this for those people who's on a budget yet want to get their hands on an eyeshadow palette with pink rose color (or simply put Naked 3 colors), or for someone who's still want to try play and brush up their skill on their eyeshadow skill.

Have you try this palette though? If you have, tell me about your thoughts on this product!
