REVIEW: Dolce & Gabbana Perfection Veil Pressed Powder #Soft Blush

Being a girl with oily skin, it makes me wanted to have a really good powder to blot my oily face or just to keep my oil at bay. Then, 2 years ago, I was about to have a vacation to United States of America - West Coast. It begun then my research on the best powder. Contemplating between this and that powder, it came down to Dolce & Gabbana's powder. I wanted to buy a high-end product and preferably something that's hard to get in Indonesia.

There was no online shop that carries Dolce & Gabbana's line, and it's hardly available in Southeast Asia, even though I heard they're branching out to Hongkong (and that's not even Southeast Asia) already by now. Great review for this product and I totally love the gold and sleek packaging.

Since I'm with tour groups, it's very hard for me to have free time to actually shop at big department stores such as Saks Fifth Avenue or Nordstrom, even to find one is quite hard for me. When I was in Las Vegas, I had lots of free time at night but I was late, I came to the department stores and it's closed already unfortunately.

Then for my last destination, I went to San Francisco. I forgot my hotel's name but it was located right in the Union Square. Before dinner time, I had asked to my tour guide to give us an hour of shopping spree time, and we were given some time to see around and shop. I went to Saks Fifth Avenue right away.

What a heaven. There are tons of brands there, starting from Giorgio Armani, Chantecaille, and Dolce & Gabbana! I was just there right in time, I was circling around and trying out here and there for almost half an hour and the department store is closing by that time. Phew.

I only bought Dolce & Gabbana and Giorgio Armani only though when I was there because of the limited time, sadly. I purchased the Dolce & Gabbana Pressed Powder in the shade Soft Blush for USD 60 at that time.

I'm so excited for this product! Let's get on to the review, firstly will be talking about the PACKAGING of this product. Seriously, Dolce & Gabbana has the most luxurious looking products ever. Look at that sleek gold packaging. Not cheap looking gold, but luxurious gold. You get one mini brush and a suede pocket for the powder and the brush, so you won't have to carry it separately.

The brush itself is really soft and handy. The powder lid open when you click and it's not a magnetic lid. The suede pocket however can get dirty easily because it's suede. A bit annoying for me since it irks me to see dusts or powders or anything stuck into it.

Moving on to the COLOR / PAYOFF of the product. The SA at Saks Fifth Avenue helped me out in choosing the right shade for my face. She opted for the shade called Soft Blush. It's the right shade for me, even though it's a little bit lighter than my skin tone at that time but it helped brighten up my complexion, and now it's the right shade for me thankfully, still brighten up my complexion also.

With just one swipe, and I get a really good payoff of the product. It's pigmented but it won't make your face look cakey.

Next, we'll discuss about the TEXTURE and APPLICATION of the product. The texture of the powder is finely milled and soft powdery. It's really soft and smooth. It applies to the face smoothly and blends really well.

Lastly, it's about the PERFORMANCE of the product. One thing to say about this product, I love this powder. It blends really well to the face, to the foundation. It doesn't make your face look cakey. However, it does not have any coverage I would say, well it's light to half-medium coverage, I would say.

One major thing about this though, it makes oil shine on my face disappear without making it look too powdery and cakey.

OVERALL, I really like this powder despite its hefty price tag. It's easy to carry around, thanks to the powder sleeve along with its inclusive powder brush for touch-ups. It blots my oil really well and it keeps my oil at bay pretty well as well.

It doesn't make my face look cakey when I apply this. In the end, I really like this powder, furthermore the sleek luxurious-looking packaging. I recommend this for touch-ups if you're looking for a high-end brand powder.

That's all for today's review and thank you for reading!
